Catalina High Magnet School in Tucson, Arizona is home to an Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps unit. Students are held to high academic standards. The Catalina High drill team competes annually for the state championship. Students only get participate in drill if their grades are kept up.
Discipline and community awareness are the two major components that make Catalina High’s ROTC cadets stand apart from the rest. The program has a heavy emphasis on respect and focus. Cadets are also given the chance to succeed in leadership positions. The cadets are in charge of organization and execution of most extracurricular activities.
Values learned at Catalina High’s junior ROTC program serve cadets long after graduation. Students graduating from the program become well-equipped young adults.
