Kansas Military Academies

The state of Kansas only has one military academy, St. John’s Military School. St. John’s was the only military school to be rated as a top private school by GreatSchools, published in Business Week magazine. The distinction is well earned. The school is dual accredited by AdvancED and the Kansas Department of Education. St. John’s also holds the honor of earning the highest score in the country on the Annual Formal Inspection, renewing its status as Honor Unit With Distinction.

Nestled in the central Kansas city of Salina, St. John’s is an all boys boarding school, serving students in grades 6-12. The focus of a St. John’s Military School education is development of self-confidence and self-discipline through military training and Episcopal values. The school has been achieving their goals for 120 years. With less than 150 students, the class sizes are small and all students get individualized attention to guarantee their success in school and in life.

A summer camp is offered to all boys in grades 6-12, regardless of whether they are students at the school. Summer camp at St. John’s Military School gives young men the opportunity to have fun while they are learning leadership skills and developing strong values.
