Michigan Military Academies

There are many quality military academies in the state of Michigan. These in-residence academies offer instruction to students in junior high and high school grades. Several academies also cater to college students. Military academies offer instruction in the same subjects that public schools offer, and incorporate military traits such as wearing of a uniform and learning of military values, such as discipline and integrity. Many military academies offer courses of instruction that lead to a skill or trade after graduation. One such academy is the Great Lakes Maritime Academy, offering college degrees in maritime trades. Other military academies in Michigan offer courses of study for troubled teens and high school drop-outs, as is the case with the Michigan Youth Challenge Academy. These schools accept students either by referral from organizations or by self-referral from the parents or guardians of the youth. Still other schools offer educational programs for highly-motivated youth, and are first choice for both parents and students. These private schools can come with a hefty price tag, but financial assistance is available to those who qualify. Information on financial assistance and scholarships can be obtained from each individual school, either via their website or by calling the school itself.
