Undergraduates can attend Army Reserve Officer Training Corps programs at either Providence College or the University of Rhode Island. Naval officers, civilians and international students come from all over to attend the Naval War College in Newport.

Providence College, in Providence, offers an Army Reserve Officer Training Corps program for students that want to become commissioned second lieutenants in the U.S. Army. Cadets in the Patriot Battalion spend time learning about military history and leadership in addition to their regular classes.

The University of Rhode Island also offers an Army ROTC program. Cadets in Cramer’s Saber Battalion take part in weekly leadership laboratories to prepare for their future careers. Cadets also spend time training to meet Army physical fitness standards.

The U.S. Naval War College, in Newport, is one of the most prestigious institutions for Naval education. Students at the Naval War College are generally pursuing postgraduate studies. Students and visiting families can visit the Naval War College Museum. For students and officers looking to conduct research or further their education, the Naval War College is an outstanding choice.
