The University of Northern Iowa is home to the Panther Battalion Army Reserve Officer Training Corps unit. Cadets in the Panther Battalion are encouraged to excel academically and athletically. Leadership development is a vital part of the ROTC program. Cadets develop skills for an effective transition into the military lifestyle. Scholarships are available for many cadets.
Cadets are expected to keep high academic standards during the ROTC program. In addition to traditional college classes, students will take courses in military science. Cadets will also have various field training exercises during the school year and summer break. The ROTC program at The University of Northern Iowa creates an environment for cadets to succeed in academic and leadership goals.
