The University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire is home to the Wildcat Battalion, an Army Reserve Officer Training Corps unit. Cadets in the Wildcat battalion are held to higher standards than their peers. Academic excellence is important to the successful completion of the program. Students also participate in various extracurricular activities during the school year.
There are many different training options available during the summer as well. Students can take courses like Airborne School, Air Assault School, Mountain Warfare School or the Cadet Troop Leadership Program. Keeping up with physical fitness is an important part of any ROTC program. Scholarship opportunities are available for most cadets. Students graduating from the Wildcat Battalion can expect to be well prepared for their new careers as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army.
