North Carolina Military Academies
North Carolina is home to many excellent military academies. These schools have highly selective admission requirements and students must possess superior academic skills. Oak Ridge Military Academy is located in Oak Ridge, North Carolina and accepts male and female students in grades 7 – 12. Situated on 101 acres this campus has a 33,000 square foot academic building. Students attend small classrooms that have an 11 student to 1 teacher ratio. Academics and extracurricular activities focus on self-esteem and discipline. Male students can participate in sports such as soccer, basketball, cross country and swimming. Female students may choose from sports such as soccer, golf and tennis. Oak Ridge Military Academy also offers summer military camps and academic camps for male and female students who wish to attend.
The UNC-Chapel Hill NROTC is a military academy located in North Carolina. This college is geared toward male and female students interested in entering the Navy or Marine Corps. Students must complete training in physical fitness and academics. All students are required to adhere to strict codes of conduct, as part of their training. After graduation, students will be ready to enter the Navy or Marine Corps to begin their military career.
