Naugatuck High School JROTC is home to an Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps unit. Students attending the Naugatuck High School JROTC program get the discipline and leadership skills necessary for academic success. In addition to regular formations, students have the option to join additional JROTC affiliated clubs.
Students can participate in both the unarmed basic drill team and rifle basic drill team. There is also a color guard. The expert students can try out for the armed trick exhibition team. Extracurricular teams include the survival team, the rocketry team and the awareness presentation team.
Students in the program gain confidence and self-discipline through the military structure. Learning to work with others is an important benefit for college-bound students. The JROTC program encourages students to achieve academic excellence.
