Brief Overview
Founded in 1851, St. John’s College High School is a military school in Washington DC. It is the oldest JROTC school in the United States.
The school is affiliated with Roman Catholic institutions. It is the second oldest Christian Brothers school in the US.
The faculty of about 75 staff is highly educated. 70% hold a master’s degree or higher.
Unlike most military schools the JROTC program is optional and therefore about half of the students participate.
St. John’s is a large school with over 1,100 students enrolled at the urban 30-acre campus.
