Minnesota State University is home to the Maverick Battalion, a Reserve Officer Training Corps unit. The Cadets in the Maverick Battalion take pride in their academic achievements. Duty, respect and leadership are three core components of the ROTC program at Minnesota State University. Students are required to maintain physical fitness standards throughout the school year.
In addition to their regular studies, students will also take classes in military science. Leadership laboratories are a requirement of the ROTC program. Students interested in a career as a U.S. Army officer can explore various scholarship options within the ROTC program. Cultivating a challenging environment for cadets to succeed in is a top priority for Minnesota State University.
