Brief Overview
Saint Thomas Academy (STA) is a all boy Roman Catholic military college prep school – the only one in Minnesota. The school is split into a middle school (7-8) and a high school (9-12). All high school students participate in the Army JROTC.
Founded in 1885, St. Thomas Academy was originally Saint Thoman Aquinas Seminary and then St. Thomas Military Academy before becoming STA.
About 700 students are enrolled with a student-faculty ratio of 8:1. The school mascot is the Cadets and there is a rivalry between the Academy and Cretin-Derham Hall.
