The University of New Mexico has a motivated Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps unit known as the Warhawks. Warhawk cadets take pride in their academic achievements. Students just beginning the ROTC program take classes on general military knowledge. As students progress in their degree programs they begin to take specialized aerospace classes.
Warhawk cadets are known for their integrity. They are held to a much higher standard than traditional college students. Leadership laboratories are an important part of the ROTC curriculum. Students learn valuable skills during leadership labs and field training exercises. The physical fitness program is designed to get cadets prepared for their future careers. The University of New Mexico prepares its cadets for successful careers as commissioned officers after graduation.
