Utah Valley State College in Orem, Utah is home to the Cougar Battalion, an Army Reserve Officer Training Corps unit. Cadets in the Cougar Battalion spend time honing military skills during field training exercises. Cadets are encouraged to achieve academic excellence. In addition to traditional courses, cadets also take military science courses. Cadets are also required to participate in the physical fitness program.
Students interested in becoming second lieutenants should consider the various scholarship options available to them. There are options for two, three and four year ROTC programs. Becoming an officer in the U.S. Army is the ultimate goal for cadets in the Cougar Battalion. The Utah Valley State College ROTC program strives to prepare cadets for their future leadership careers.
