The Florida Air Academy or FLAIR was founded in 1961 by Jonathan Dwight and it is a private coeducational military boarding school in Melbourne, Florida. Grades 6 through 12 are available as college prep.
A normal school day for a cadet at Florida Air Academy starts at 7:15am. They can have breakfast until 7:50 and dorms are inspected for cleanliness in the morning. Before classes at 9:00am students can meet with their teachers individually for more help. Six class periods last until 2:45pm.
The school’s Air Force Junior ROTC program has a model rocket club to help students further their knowledge of aerospace. Students must be in good standing to join.
