Carson Long Military Institute is a private all boy military institute in New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania. It is the oldest boarding school in the United States that has military training.
Grades 6-12 are offered at Carson Long with a maximum capacity of 180 cadets, but about 90 are currently enrolled. The campus is rural and the mascot for sports teams is Warriors.
Carson Long’s history can be traced as far back as 1836 and Bloomfield Academy. The mission of the institute is to help young men become inspired to strive for academic excellence, build strong character, and reach their potential as future leaders.
Like all military schools JROTC training is required for all cadets and they are assigned military ranks that make higher ranking boys the leaders of their peers.
